I am Japanese, so of caurse I always speak Japanese with other people. Therefore I will write about how to learn English. I have been learning English from when I was a freshman of junior high school, for eight years by various ways of studying. I want to introduce you main 4 ways.

First of all, I study English in class. When I belonged junior high school, I took the English class three times in a week. I learned mainly grammar in those classes. Only the rudiment of  first term, I studyed alphabets,from A to Z, how to write and read them. After that I learned its grammar and conversation on the paper. I entered high school, I had to take the English class everyday. The Oral Communication course was included in those classes in those days. The class was I should speak with my ALT or class mate of mine in English. Sometimes I took three lessons in a day. It was very hard for me. I became a university student at Kumamoto Gakuen. I have been taking 4 English classes which are Writing, Speaking, Reading and Grammar, however I took Grammar class last year. Through I take those classes and application to my study English in classes, I can concern with English everyday.

Second, I always listen western music while I go to my university, stay my room or doing housework. For example I usually listen Backstreet Boys, James Blunt, Daniel Powter, Eric Clapton, Justin Bieber and Orianthi. First time, I listen the song without look its lyrics, and then I guess what the artist sing in it. Second, I listen it reading its lyrics and check what they sing in English, and finally, I look up the words, which I could not understand the meaning, in a dictionary. And then I sing the song memorizing it. I remembered a lot of expressions and collocations couse of that. This way is not torture for me to study English. The way is the best.

Third, what I just write, read and listen some words. This is it. The only way to learn words is by repetition. It is the most painful way for me to learn English as I fell sleep and boring soon. But once I memorized those words, I do not forget them easily. Before high school and university enter examination, I did it.  

Last one is what I watch some movies in English. When I watch the movie first, I watch it only image without English or Japanese subtitle. Next, I superimpose English one. Of course the soround is not Japanese at the time. Finally, I change English subtitle to Japanese one. After that I copy some words which I could not understand in the movie to my note, and I look up the words.

Those are my ways of English learning. I especially like second and last ways as them makes me so be exciting. I think that there are other various ways how to learning English. But they are my best ways at this moment. Therefore please tell me other means that are better than my ways.

Essay 2-02a: Group Essay about Robin Hood

We watched the 1991 and the 2010 versions of Robin Hood. We will tell you about our favorite scenes.

I watched the movie of Robin Hood~The Prince of thieves~. It was scteened in 1990, and old movie, but the story is interesting for me to watch.

Yukino’s favorite scene in the movie Robin Hood is the final duel of a movie. Robin Hood storms to the George (Sheriff of Nottingham)'s castle to recover Marian Dubois, who is king Richard's cousin and was carried off, from George. And then He duel with George in front of Marian to help her. I think the scene is the climax!! It keeps me in suspense. In fact, the main character of this story is Robin, but I boost George without notice because he is a scream in this movie. I do not know whether he is funny or not, I think that Alan Rickman's performance as George, sheriff of Nottingham, is briliant! because he received BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role with this movie in 1991, so it is one of the highlight.

I watched the 2010 version of Robin Hood. Eimi’s favorite scene in this movie is scene of war versus French army, because this scene has big impact. Before this scene, northern marquees were angry to new king and tried to revolt to king, because king requests excessive tax. Many northern marquees gathered, Robin Hood was there too instead of marquees son of Nottingham, then the king talks around them with Robin's help. This background makes bigger sensation.

In Eimi’s favorite scene, Robin Hood and northern marquees fight at shore. Behind the shore, there is huge wall. In the battle scene, a lot of arrows fly from there to shore. I like this scene especially, because it’s so beautiful. Robin Hood is so strong, he is an expert archer, and he is very smart. This scene very expressed these his character.

Haruka’s favorite scene of Robin Hood is that Robin went to King's brother to hand his crown. Robin Hood was sincere because he handed it exactly. He was asked King to hand his brother the crown when he is dying. So, he was entrusted a important role. It may have been possible to give up the role, but he achieved it exactly. I thought that he was honest and brave. He also had a important role. It was to hand the sword of Robart to his father. Robart was killed at the war, so the role is also important role. However, he achieved it exactly though he was almost killed by French army. I think that this movie is not only about the fight between England and France, but also about human nature of Robin Hood. After I watched this movie, I was moved because of his human nature.

As stated above, mainly we had big impression at big scale fighting scene and the scene that Robin Hood went to King’s brother to hand his crown. We were drawn to Robin Hood’s brave and honest character. 1991 ver and 2010 ver. has many different points, we recommend to watch both works. It is because you can find different points and it’s some amusement. We hope that new Robin Hood movie will be made in future.

Essay 2-01a ( Part2 ): My favorite place

My favorite place is Vancouver in Canada. Do you know where Vancouver is? Vancouver is located in the west of Canada.  Have you ever been to Vancouver?? If you have not been there, I recommend you visiting there. Because it is wonderful place, so I want you to know goodness of Vancouver. Therefore I will tell you some good points so as you want to visit there.

First of all, although Vancouver is a great city and a great number of people live in, has a rich natural environment. There are many trees along all of avenue if it is even center of downtown. Some flower plants, like big ball, also are hung along avenue. And then, surprisingly, there are a lot of roof garden. You can see it from place to place in downtown. Of cause they are not only residential area but also downtown.

In the second place, the 2010 Vancouver winter Olympic games was hold there, so traffic networks were improved. The government of Canada made "Canada Line" like subway. It made us convenience. And some modern art works have been placing at downtown. For example there are huge man's face which is laid, large object which is 3 meters high and like aluminum foil, over 10 people with funny face and so on. Therefore it is nice for me to live, and I could feel art easily. 

Finally, there are a great number of people who are attentive to me. Most of people, whom I spoke to, helped me when I lost the my way. Although it was rush hour in the morning and they was in the middle of commuting, told me how to go my school politely. Some took me to the subway at the nearest station!!! Moreover they appeared  to speak me more slowly than usual. It made me relieve to what everyone are kind. They just made my life at Vancouver.

So that is the reason why, I love Vancouver. Of cause there is a reason why it is  the first foreign country where I went to.  I want to go there again someday! What do you think about Vancouver? I really would like you to visit here♡

  One day, there is a boy in small town. I saw a poster which is amusement event on his way, and he want to go there. Therefore he asked his family, father, mother and senior sister. But everyone are busy. after all he could not go the event, and he was disappointed that. When such like, a ghost came to him, and they played and enjoyed! And then he are good at with the ghost! I watched "Mrs. Doubtfire" as a writing class, and I thought about two things. These are "Father's love for children" and "Relationship husband and wife". I expect the ending of this story. I think Mr. Daniel will be get in good with his wife all of end. I think it is good for you that you will expect the ending of the story!

The man of main character worked as dubber, and his name is Daniel Hillard. He has a wife and three children, two daughters,Lydia, and Chris, and a son, Natalie. But Daniel is so idler, and he gave up his job again and again. Therefore his wife, Miranda, has earned to household economy. But he did not care about that things, so she got mad at him for mess inside of their house, and it set up divorce. He was  said that he can not meet his children only once a week by a judiciary.

He is a useless as a husband. But his love for his children is very deep , so he can not put up with what he can not meet anytime and anywhere. He found his new job, and clean his room to allow meeting his children long time. But he could not wait next their justice. It is pain for him to live away from his children. ...and at least, he took action that is unbelievable.

Miranda has wanted to employ a housekeeper, so she advertised on newspaper. But, in fact, Daniel changed the phone number secretly. Daniel called her in order to be adopted. Of course he changed his voice and how to talk when he called.His job, dubber, helped him. And he was employed. He commuted every evening after he was disguised by his brother. His aim achieved, and he took care of them. As he love his children, he brought up to be good boy and girls. Then again, he changed himself for nice direction. For example, he could cook, clean and so on. He loves them very much, so he could change.

Daniel and Miranda had good relationship, but it was changed by long term. He loves her, but she was not able to love him. She definitely did not hate him. She just tired married life with him. They did not become reconciled again. All of couples are not in good with each other. Sometime, it is difficult for them to continue married life. Divorcing is good way for them.

I thought that even if the father and mother love their child, all couple are not able to have good relationship. Sometime, divorcing is nice choice than staying with. The movie told that family has a lot of types to me. And I feel that parents love their children even if they hate each other. But personally I wanted them back together.

My Opinion

      In my opinion, people should spend time with their friends or their family than other two things.

     First of all, if they spend the most time with their friend or their family, they are going to feel relax or comfortable. For example, suppose they spend the most time working hard at their jobs, they may be under a lot of stress and strains. 

     What’s more, they can lean a lot of important things which they can not lean in the human relations of company, for example, a steady friendship, now to cook, the family tradition and so on.

     Also, they can lean what they look up to their friends and family. It is no wonder that they should respect their boss, but it is difficult that they respect their friends or family.

     Therefore, I think that spending the most time with their friends or family than working hard or volunteering to help other people.

My Home Town

     My home town which is Kumamoto has a lot of interesting places and local dishes. There are two popular sightseeing spot which is Kumamoto castle and Mt. Aso.

     Kumamoto castle was built by Kiyomasa Kato approximately four hundred ago. It has a long history, so some foreigners are interested in it and its history. Therefore it is visited by a crowd of people especially Chinese and Korean. Mt. Aso also is popular with them, because it is the biggest mountain whose type is Caldera in the world. Mt. Aso is big active volcano. However we can go and see crater, so there is very popular.

     Kumamoto’s local dishes also are loved all the time. For example Ikinaridando, Musyagaeshi, Karashirenkon, Taipien and so on. Some people are surprised that what it is local dish, because it looks like Chinese food, but in reverse it is loved.

    Thus, my home town has a lot of wonderful things, so there is visited by same foreigners from oversea.

What is similar about me?

     My sister and I are often said that “you are similar each other”, but my sister and I have two similar points, and a different one.

     First similar point is what we like same color. It is deep pink. Therefore we often buy severally some goods of deep pink and we notice that we bought it each other when we came back home.

     Second similar point is what we like same brand of fashion, so we can go shopping together, and we can borrow and lend our clothes each other.

     One different point is what we can eat foods. I like devil’s tongue, but my sister does not like it. She likes tomato, but I hate it very much. She likes Japanese-style confectionery, but I like confectionery of the West. Therefore we have not been having quarrel about foods.

About your friends or family member’s lifestyle.

     My father’s lifestyle is gentle for his health and everything.

     Firstly, he fails to smoke. It goes without saying that my family member have not seem scene he smokes. 

     Secondly, he scarcely drinks alcohol. I think that he probably drinks once a week or thereunder.

     Thirdly, he usually eats food of organic. He hates what we buy inorganic foods, and what we eat instant food. He has the habit of saying “It is unhealthy for us to eat.   

     Finally, every time he commutes, he uses his bicycle. He uses it no matter how come what may, for example, he catches in a shower, his office transfers distant from our house and suchlike.

     My father cares about health and lives, so he had not been sick.

What do you think would be a dream family?

     It is ma family for me to I think a dream family. Because we live in perfect harmony. For example, we always eat meal together expect lunch time and when my father work. Besides we always make our meal, we go away anywhere and we are all we need each other.

If there is only one thing which we are lacking, it is that my father isn’t my home every day. My father’s occupation has night shift. Therefore we can’t stay there together every day and night.

However we are proud of it. Because it is rescuing citizens from a lot of disaster. And he thinks us at first. Of course my mother too. They are willing to do everything if it good influence on us. So we expect my parents. Much as sometime they disgust me, but suppose an action by parents for me, I should appreciate. I think it was good with the daughter of my parents.

     Accordingly I think that my family is dream family for me. I want to build such a family in the future, too.

What do you want to do in the next four years?

　I decided three things that if I enter at Kumamoto Gakuen University, I want to do.

　　　　Firstly, I am anxious to like studying English. I like speaking English with someone, but opposite, I dislike studying English word, grammar and reading long sentence. Therefore I want to like everything of English!! And I want to be a flight attendant of international flight. So I must study it much harder than till now.

Secondly, I want to spend long time with my family. When I was a child, we not only frequently go skiing in Kuzyu, but also go camp and take a run to Okinawa. However, we did not travel since I was a junior high school student. Because I belonged soft tennis club which practiced every day. When I was a high school student, I also practiced every day too. But I am university student now. I will be free except for homework during vacation. So I want to go away with my family!

Finally, I am eager for part time job. In addition to be interested in service industry, I want to express my deep appreciation to my parents by using my starting pay. Therefore I stick out something up until last!!!!!

Cell Phone

People shouldn’t use cell phones while they are driving. First of all, I think that the action drives other people nuts. You drive single-handed, so your drive is get rough. Then, in my opinion, it is highly dangerous for you and other people who are driving or walking around you. As you worry too much about your cell phone, you may be not able to notice circumstance. Finally, I believe what use cell phones while you are driving is illegal. Don’t do it, or you are arrested.

Natsumi’s Life

Natsumi has always liked music. In 1991, she was born in Yatsushiro, Kumamoto as the oldest daughter She began to lean the piano, 4 years later. When she was 15 years old, she started playing the sax as a member of junior high school brass band. 2 years later, Natsumi’s brass band took part in Kyusyu contest, and they were awarded a silver prize. She is a big EXILE fan, so she went to their concert for the first time with her friends in 2008.

How to make friends

  This paragraph will tell you how to make friends in a new place. First of all, never forget to wear a smile. If you speak to someone without cracking a smile, they would be afraid of you. Enjoyable

 Natsumi says August is enjoyable. Because, school is closed for summer vacation. It is so long, so she can go to her favorite beach to go for a swim with her friend or family. The best reason is a lot of festivals are hold in August. It has a different atmosphere from daily’s. For example, we often wear Yukata or Zinbei, there are some stalls of food, toy or dipping for goldfish and fireworks display is took place. She is excited in these reasons, so she feels August is enjoyable.

My free time activities

I usually spend my free time to do something in my house. I had　done club activities till now, so I do not know how to spend it. Therefore I　usually spend all most of it in my house. For example, I sleep to kill fatigue in the　morning, and then I wake up noon, I began to cook lunch with my mother.

After we finish eating, I wash a lot of dishes, and I finally start studying　which include homework. I generally spend my free time in my house, but I　often spend for shopping in urban district, doing sports,　watching DVD　which I want to watch and suchlike.

 Nagasaki city is very small city in Kyusyu, but many people aregoing to Nagasaki city for sightseeing these days. As there is connection with Ryoma Sakamoto who is main character of this year’s Taiga drama. If you go there, you can go sightseeing a lot of place which is connection with Ryoma Sakamoto. For example Kameyamasyacyu, Glover garden and so on. In Japan, Nagasaki city is not only one of the popular tourist site with Japanese now also there is popular with foreigner. Black hills gold rush in Dakota territory.

This story is what when I was eighteen.

I was born as eldest daughter at a poor family in Dead Wood, Dakota, in1857.  My family consisted of my father, John, my mother, Mary, my sister, Chris, a dog, Elytis, which kind of Labrador retriever and I, though we are very poor, we spend happily and substantial daily life. As the Dead Wood is town which had a thousand people, I and my sister went to one school in this town. It was called Sandra. All my friends were richer than us in there, so they put on new and beautiful clothes, shoes, hat and so on. I was envious their position, but   I gave it up, because we had not no money. In addition to I knew it which my father worked very very hard, so I sad my father to I want a lot of new things. Whenever my friends wore new clothes, I swore to be famous and rich in the future in the depth of my heart.

Autumn, in 1875 when I became an eleventh grader, a lot of gold was founded by a carpenter at the America river near by Sacramento, California., That news was expanded as soon as possible by the American presses for all over the world. It included China, Australia and Japan. Some people who are my friends in my school, other people like us could not go there because we even did not have money for visiting there.  

However, spring in 1875 when I became a twelve grader, finally somebody founded some grains of gold in Black hills, South Dakota!! Although there was gold ore there, there was native people’s. The American government pledged to someone can not go through, tap and reside. In addition to if three four men of native people can not agree, do not receive the land. It was the holy land for their, but the government masked to survey there, and they opened for citizen to searching for gold. Therefore, marvelous numerical person visited there and there was alive with their. Of cause my friends went to there, so I intend to go there for looking for it.

one day, my mother said my father” Let’s go Black hills and we can emerge this situation” I and my sister agreed with her because we thought that my father did too, and we have talked about when and how will we depart to Black hills, but he kept silent a little time . After, he began speaking with calm voice. “We are right are not us? Then I sad “We are right. Because all my friends also go there, and I want to wear new and beautiful clothes, shoes, hat and so on. I have hate a dilapidated house and their. I want to be like everyone.” Then he said “Do you know what there is native people’s place? There has been a holy land for them, while the government digged up there to masked for survey of ground. We should not gain profit till ravaging. Do you want to go Black hills yet? Now, our livelihood is hard, but it is good rather what our livelihood is hard than what we are rich thanks Black hills.”

I find that my think had been mistake by my father’s words. It is not truth happiness for us to we get happiness by we destroy others. At the time, my dream change “what I want to be rich” to “I want to a person who make someone happy.”
